Pair of Antique Samurai Warrior Battle Horse 'ABUMI (stirrups)
in traditional Japanese metal inlay technique Zogan,
Edo period
Abumi, a pair of Japanese battle horse forged stirrups in
swan-like shape (WA-ABUMI) with buckle to each terminus
and with silver and shakudo brass inlays of kaga zogan
style, decorated overall with intricate floral pattern
all over iron and also samurai families mon (heraldic
emblems) in both sides rods of footplates.
Most of silver inlays are missing that might have
been occurred due to using by the warrior and according
to age.
Abumi is in very good condition overall with no cracking
or holes but with very antique taste and fine iron work.
Abumi dating from 17th century, Edo period.
Measurements : 32 x 26 x 14 cm
Weight : 4 600 grams
