Japanese Vintage and Antique Men's Kimono

It's been a long time since Japanese people began
wearing western clothes in their daily lives. But
kimono, the Japanese traditional clothes are not
something what can be leave behind. Elaborate design and
sumptuous silk material reached the hearts and
minds of people all over the world. A range of
decorative approaches you can see in Japanese
traditional kimonos: intricate embroidery in satin
stitch or metallic couching, delicate shaded resist
painting, applied gold foil, elaborate brocading, and
intricate ikat or tie dye. A lot of kimono have been
kept carefully in the chest of each Japanese family for
a long time. Men's kimono, juban and haori are on the
whole more subdued in color than women's. On this page
we have posted a selection of the men's kimono and
juban--the very easy-to-wear under-kimono. They both
range from very dressy, to casual. They include a
variety of silk fabrics, and have been decorated with a
wide range of techniques. |
