Japanese antique silk haori, pre WWII
HAORI is mid-length loose jacket that serve
as a coat to be worn over a kimono. Haori are traditional
Japanese clothes which were worn by men as a component of
the formal attire. All kimono jackets are hand sewn and
"one of a kind". Haori can be used as a garment or an unique
interior decor to brighten up the corner of your home.
That is pre WWII black formal man's silk haori with five
samurai family mon or crest and with brown
silk lining painted with ancient Japanese legend about first
Japanese emperor and his descent from Amaterasu Goddess
. You can see the first Japanese emperor Jinmu Tenno
with big bow with eagle on top on lower picture and
dancing girl who welcomed Amaterasu The Sun Goddess
on upper picture. The haori has signed in white tread. Excellent
condition.
