Japanese antique doll of young noble lady with court's
golden high hat , 1920-30's
This graceful wonderfully dressed very big Japanese antique
silk face doll was crafted in Kyoto around 1930-s
. The doll represents beautiful young noble lady in
brilliantly designed silk hand embroidered kimono with very
long sleeves ( Japanese symbol of virginity), and
with long silk brocaded obi with samurai families mon or crest tied on her back. Her red silk upper kimono
artistically embroidered with silk and gold treads with
flowers, plants and golden mist motif. and has padded hem
for trailing when walking. Doll's white silk kinno aslo
has embroidered white and pink cherry flowers. Her
silk brocaded obi belt with golden clouds motif tied on
her back. Doll's high golden court hat adorned silk
brocaded ribbon and silk ropes, and her her intricate
hairdo decorated with silk flowers, silver paper's butterflies
and rosettes, silver pendants, which are jingle swinging
in the wind. She holds a folding fan in her hands and glances
with a smile.
Dimensions: 67 cm / 26,3 inches high
Conditions: very good according to age with no damage and
with real antique taste
